Originally there was little hope that any sort of cooking was in

my future after burning Rice Krispie Treats as a teenager.... 

...but alas, here I am making scratch caramels for you from my very own kitchen! 

In 2002, our young family of four moved into a cozy North Central Phoenix neighborhood filled with the best kind of neighbors anyone could ask for. Each year at Christmastime our street is lined like a glittering runway with luminaria and we exchange small, handmade gifts with neighbors, usually food related.  It was this time of year that I began to experiment with sea salt caramel.  After much recipe tweaking, it had been perfected and caramels were finally ready for giving!  In December of 2014 my Original Sea Salt Caramels found their way into the home of a friend and I was asked and encouraged to supply bags for a Superbowl event for a large national corporation.  Not really sure this was something I was ready for, I accepted the challenge and in January of 2015, I officially launched Sweetish Treats. It has been a whirlwind of a ride, going above and beyond where I ever dreamed it would go.

My caramels have landed in the hands of some amazing people and in some pretty incredible places.  Each person who I have encountered as a customer has been nothing but encouraging, complimentary, and just plain nice!  What more can I ask for?  I am doing what I love and selling to people who continue to make me love what I do. How can hearing "these are the best caramels I have ever eaten", "I have never liked caramels...until now", and "ohmygosh they are sooooooo good" ever get old?  I cannot imagine it ever will.  Until then, I will continue to make each batch of Sea Salt Caramels with the utmost care and passion for you (and I promise not to burn them), knowing they will be gobbled up and enjoyed by all!
